This fruit is only produced in the Iberian peninsula, more specifically in Murcia and Aragon, where it is called Paraguayo (Paraguayan), but which has nothing to do with the South American country. It is cultivated in temperate zones. It needs a lot of salt, deep limestone-free soils and large amounts of water.

Esta fruta sólo se produce en la península Ibérica, más concretamente en Murcia y Aragón, donde se la denomina paraguayo, pero que nada tiene que ver con el país sudamericano. Se cultiva en zonas templadas. Necesita de mucha sal, suelos profundos exentos de caliza y grandes cantidades de agua.
